Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, Quincus, and Quantinuum Partner on Quantum Maritime Logistics

The Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA), the training and R&D arm of AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS), has entered into a multi-year research collaboration with logistics software provider Quincus and trapped-ion hardware developer Quantinuum (NASDAQ: QNT). Formalized following discussions at the Quantum Innovation Summit in Dubai, the joint initiative focuses on evaluating hybrid quantum computing, high-performance computing (HPC), and artificial intelligence algorithms using live operational network data to address persistent bottlenecks across maritime fleet operations, container supply chains, and bulk transport logistics.

Under the collaborative framework, each partner contributes targeted infrastructure to establish benchmarked classical-quantum workflows:

Maritime logistics operations involve high-dimensional combinatorial optimization challenges—such as dynamic berth allocation, container vessel stowage sequencing, and fuel-efficient voyage routing—that quickly outpace classical exact solvers as network nodes scale. The research program intends to formulate these operational challenges into hybrid quantum-classical pipelines, investigating whether algorithms executed on trapped-ion architectures can achieve measurable improvements in solution quality, asset utilization, and carbon efficiency.

The collaboration expands upon ADMA’s ongoing technology development roadmaps, which include the Quantum and AI Blue Initiative established with Vernewell Group.
