BTQ Technologies and Macquarie University Partner to Drive Quantum Computing and Secure Communications

BTQ Technologies Corp., a quantum technology company focusing on secure networks, has announced a new research collaboration with Macquarie University aimed at advancing quantum algorithms and secure communications. This collaboration builds on their previous joint Quantum Proof-of-Work (QPoW) project from 2022, which innovatively applied quantum computing to reduce the energy consumption of blockchain technologies.

The partnership, initiated on June 1, 2024, brings together Macquarie’s quantum experts and BTQ’s industry specialists, with Sydney Quantum Academy PhD students funded by CSIRO contributing to the research. Key project goals include enhancing communication protocols through quantum processing, resulting in faster, more secure, and energy-efficient systems.

This collaboration is expected to bolster BTQ’s mission to tackle quantum security challenges and offers hands-on experience for PhD students, aligning with both institutions’ commitment to advancing quantum technologies and preparing the next generation of quantum specialists.
