IonQ Renews Agreement with UAE’s Technology Innovation Institute

IonQ has renewed its agreement with the Quantum Research Center at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that was originally signed in 2023. The agreement grants TII continued access to IonQ Forte, IonQ’s 36-qubit quantum computer, which features trapped-ion architecture and all-to-all qubit connectivity. This partnership supports TII’s research in hybrid quantum-classical algorithms, including variational quantum algorithms, and aims to advance the UAE’s position as a global leader in science and technology.

TII is leveraging IonQ’s technology for applications such as simulating physical systems, quantum image processing, financial portfolio optimization, and estimating properties of quantum systems like ground-state energy. The collaboration also focuses on developing efficient methods to upload classical data into quantum states, enhancing research in chemistry, materials science, and other fields.

Rima Alameddine, IonQ’s Chief Revenue Officer, emphasized the value of TII’s continued trust in IonQ’s capabilities. Prof. Dr. Leandro Aolita, Acting Chief Researcher at TII, highlighted the importance of IonQ Forte in advancing quantum research and maintaining the UAE’s leadership in innovation.
