National Quantum Summer Program Launches for Arab Students, Led by QWorld and AIU

Alamein International University (AIU), QWorld, QEgypt, and AleQCG are jointly launching a national online summer training course on quantum computing for Egyptian and Arab university students. The program, part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ2025), is open to students with foundational knowledge in Python and mathematics. It runs from July to October 2025 and emphasizes active participation through lectures, labs, quizzes, and collaborative projects. A university approval letter is required, and attendance is strictly monitored.

The curriculum is based on QWorld’s established “Bronze,” “Silver,” and “Nickel” tutorials, with topics ranging from quantum circuits and teleportation to Grover’s algorithm and introductory quantum machine learning. The course is structured into two phases: 12 weeks of instruction and assessment, followed by a 2-week project phase with options to join a hackathon or pursue term projects. Completion of the training earns students a final grade and a certificate from QWorld, with the potential for academic credit subject to their university’s policies.

With Arabic-language instruction and open access via Canvas and Discord, this initiative supports quantum capacity-building across the region. It also reflects growing interest in practical, inclusive quantum education pipelines beyond major metropolitan centers. The organizing team includes Prof. Ahmed Younes, Dr. Rasha Montaser, and a cadre of young instructors, reinforcing Egypt’s emerging leadership in quantum outreach and workforce development.

More details are available from QWorld’s official program page here and the original announcement on LinkedIn here.
