PINQ² and Distriq Partner to Advance Quantum Technology Adoption Across Canada

PINQ² and Distriq, two major players in Quebec’s quantum ecosystem, have entered into a strategic partnership to accelerate the adoption and commercialization of quantum technologies across Quebec and Canada. The collaboration aims to bridge research, infrastructure, and industrial deployment, targeting use cases ranging from logistics optimization to secure communications and quantum-enhanced simulations.

The partnership brings together Distriq’s expertise as Sherbrooke’s Quantum Innovation Zone with PINQ²’s capabilities as an operator of Canada’s only IBM Quantum System One. Together, they will support companies of all sizes — from startups to large enterprises — by providing shared access to classical and quantum computing platforms, advanced toolkits like Qiskit SDK v2.0, and specialized guidance for integrating quantum technologies into existing AI and HPC workflows. They will reach out to enterprises and provide workshops as well as consulting advice on both strategy and technology. There will be a focus on three key verticals including finance, energy, and aerospace which are strong industries in Quebec.

This alliance underscores a broader objective: to build a robust quantum economy in Quebec by developing hybrid classical-quantum models and lowering technical and financial barriers to adoption. By aligning technical resources, educational outreach, and commercialization pathways, PINQ² and Distriq intend to establish Quebec and Canadian companies overall as a global reference point in applied quantum innovation.
