Photonic quantum computing developer PsiQuantum has announced a $250,000 philanthropic investment to expand local STEM education, higher education programs, and career training in South Chicago. As the anchor tenant of the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park (IQMP), the company is funding workforce development initiatives across surrounding communities to build a local talent pipeline for the emerging regional quantum industry.

The funding initiative allocates resources across K-12 education, higher education, and community-based STEM programs:

The workforce investment follows ongoing construction at PsiQuantum’s utility-scale quantum computing site at the IQMP campus since its September 2025 groundbreaking. The company previously provided targeted equipment grants to local schools, including funding virtual reality systems, robotics, and drone technology at Bowen High School. By funding educator certification, higher education research hubs, and vocational pathways alongside its primary hardware fabrication site, PsiQuantum aims to connect South Chicago communities directly to industrial opportunities created by the state’s quantum park ecosystem.
