The joint initiative focuses on integrating quantum computing natively into standard industrial engineering software and libraries. The partnership addresses the computational bottlenecks of classical high-performance computing (HPC) when processing large-scale modeling workloads. The programmatic objective is to establish an end-to-end simulation toolkit that serves advanced engineering teams across the aerospace, advanced semiconductor, life sciences, and industrial manufacturing sectors.

Technical Architecture & Specifications / Operational Implementation

The technical framework pairs Quantinuum’s trapped-ion hardware, which utilizes the Quantum Charge-Coupled Device (QCCD) architecture, with Synopsys’ portfolio of computer-aided engineering simulation tools. The engineering roadmap concentrates on developing quantum-native solvers to calculate complex differential equations underpinning computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and structural electromagnetic simulations. As of December 31, 2025, Quantinuum’s hardware platform achieved a verified average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%. The optimization of these high-fidelity physical gates is directed toward executing algorithmic pipelines that model real-world multiphysics configurations, such as high-frequency wave propagation and microscopic fluid boundaries, which scale exponentially beyond the memory capacity of classical supercomputing arrays.
