Vertically integrated photonics and quantum hardware manufacturer Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) (Nasdaq: QUBT) has announced the live demonstration of its unified quantum security platform at the ECOC Exhibition 2026 in Málaga, Spain. The platform provides a single-system architecture that combines high-dimensional Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) for encryption with hardware-based Quantum Identity Authentication (QIA), addressing the classical authentication vulnerabilities that typically affect point-to-point QKD deployments.
The system leverages QCi’s patented Quantum Zero-Knowledge Proof (QZKP) technology, allowing communicating nodes to verify identity and private cryptographic credentials without transmitting underlying data or relying on classical computational trust assumptions. Operating in a compact, room-temperature form factor compatible with existing telecommunications fiber networks, the platform uses time-frequency and polarization-entangled photon sources alongside wavelength-division multiplexing to support multi-node network expansion.

|---|---|---|
| Capability Vector | Standard QKD Infrastructure | QCi Unified Platform (ECOC 2026) |
| Cryptographic Layer | • Symmetric Quantum Key Generation | • High-Dimensional Entanglement QKD |
| Node Authentication | • Classical Pre-Shared Keys / PKI | • Hardware-Based Quantum Identity Authentication (QIA) |
| Data Verification | • Classical Algorithmic Signatures | • Quantum Zero-Knowledge Proofs (QZKP) |
| Form Factor & Deployment | • Complex Cooling / Dedicated Fibers | • Room-Temperature / Wavelength-Multiplexed Telecom Integration |
In addition to its optical communications suite, QCi showcased its flexible quantum instrumentation and metrology tools alongside thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic integrated components manufactured at its semiconductor fab facility. The live demonstration was complemented by a technical presentation in the ECOC Product Focus Theatre detailing quantum-authenticated network security frameworks for critical infrastructure.
