Who’s News: Management Appointments at Intersect Illinois, Quantum Corridor, and LightSolver

Preeti Chalsani has been named the first Chief Quantum Officer at Intersect Illinois, starting August 14, 2024. Intersect Illinois a statewide economic development organization in the state of Illinois focused on bringing new businesses, jobs, and investment to Illinois. With the announcement of the Quantum Proving Ground with DARPA and the selection by PsiQuantum to locate a U.S. quantum data center in Chicago, the state government has a strong interest in attracting more quantum business development activity in the state. Dr. Chalsani will be leading this effort and will work with government, industry partners, quantum startups, researchers and others to help enhance Illinois’ position as a global quantum leader. Previous to this, she was the Director of Industry Partnerships and the Chicago Quantum Exchange, the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and a Deputy Directory of the Duality Accelerator. Patrick Scully has joined Quantum Corridor as Chief Product Officer. Quantum Corridor provides a very high-speed coherent optical network capability in the U.S. Midwest for use in quantum computing, sensing and communications applications. Mr. Scully will be responsible for product development and partner relationships. Mr. Scully has networking experience at Ciena where he was the Director of Product Management and before that at Nortel. LightSolver has bolstered its management team with the appointment of Amir Oz as Chief Operations Officer and Miki Sapir as Vice President of Product Management. LightSolver is a developer of a laser-based processing unit (LPU) for solving NP-hard optimization problems that the company assets will outperform both quantum and classical supercomputers. Mr. Oz will be focusing on building out LightSolver’s new enterprise cloud offering and productizing its on-premises hardware platform. He has over 25 years of technology industry experience at firms including Autobrains Technology, Infinidat, GE Medical, and several others. Mr. Sapir will be responsible for guiding LightSolver’s strategic roadmap and product offerings to ensure they meet the requirements of LightSolver’s customers. He joins LightSolver from Infinidat where he was the VP of Product Solutions and has previous experience at Align Technology, Western Digital/Sandisk, M-Systems, and other organizations.
