Quantum eMotion Corp. has appointed Bernard Crotty as an independent director to its Board of Directors, effective September 30, 2026. Crotty is the former Chairman and CEO of Certicom Corp., an elliptic-curve cryptography pioneer acquired by BlackBerry. He also previously served as President of NorthWest Healthcare Properties REIT and practiced law at McCarthy Tétrault LLP and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. In his new role, Crotty will contribute to QeM’s strategy, corporate governance, and commercial development as the company expands its quantum-safe cybersecurity portfolio. Pasqal has appointed Florence Lao as Chief Legal Officer (CLO), effective October 1, 2026. Lao brings nearly two decades of international legal experience spanning corporate governance, capital markets, compliance, and M&A. She most recently served as General Counsel and Board Secretary at Deezer, and held senior legal leadership roles at Adisseo and SMCP, where she participated in SMCP’s 2017 IPO. In her new position, Lao will oversee Pasqal’s global legal strategy, securities compliance, IP matters, and governance as the company scales its international operations as a publicly traded entity (NASDAQ: PSQL). Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has appointed Dr. Elizabeth Iwasawa as Director of Quantum to lead its newly established quantum strategy team. In this role, Dr. Iwasawa will oversee a dedicated team of researchers and developers tasked with building out RBC’s quantum technology roadmap across application development and cybersecurity. Alongside her appointment, RBC launched multi-year academic partnerships with the University of Waterloo’s Institute for Quantum Computing and the University of Toronto to support quantum talent pipelines and PhD fellowships. Kilborn brings extensive capital markets, financial reporting, and corporate development experience, having previously served as CFO & VP Corporate Development at Atlas Salt Inc. At 01 Quantum, he will oversee financial reporting, lead capital markets engagement, and support the commercialization of the company’s IronCAP™ post-quantum cryptography (PQC) solutions.
