Who’s News: Strategic Appointments at Quantum Sky, IonQ, Pasqal, and Global Quantum Intelligence

Quantum Sky (formerly Tyto Athene, LLC) has appointed Sean Thompson as Chief Growth Officer (CGO). Thompson brings over 25 years of executive experience across defense and federal technology operations. He previously served as Chief Growth Officer at CBRE Government & Defense Services and IDEMIA North America, and led federal sales at Unisys Corporation. In his new role, Thompson will manage Quantum Sky’s enterprise growth strategy and public-sector business development following the company’s recent rebrand. IonQ has appointed Dr. Eric Ball and Timothy Baxter to its Board of Directors. Dr. Ball brings nearly 40 years of financial executive experience, including a decade as Senior Vice President and Treasurer at Oracle. Baxter previously served as Chairman of SkyWater Technology until its acquisition by IonQ, and formerly held the position of CEO at Samsung North America. Pasqal has announced the composition of its nine-member Board of Directors for Pasqal Holding SA following the completion of its business combination with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II (Nasdaq: PSQL). The board is chaired in a non-executive capacity by Pasqal co-founder and 2022 Nobel laureate Alain Aspect. Michel Combes (former CEO of SoftBank Group International) serves as Lead Independent Director, alongside directors including Barbara Dalibard (Chair of the Michelin Supervisory Board), Jean Raby (Partner at Astorg), Nicolas Berdou (Bpifrance), Michael Blitzer (Inflection Point Asset Management), Andrew Gundlach (Bleichroeder LP), CEO Wasiq Bokhari, and Chief Strategic Alliances Officer Georges-Olivier Reymond. Global Quantum Intelligence (GQI) has expanded its network of senior advisors to support its strategic market intelligence and advisory operations. Dr. Carl Williams, CEO of CJW Quantum Consulting and former Deputy Director of the Physical Measurement Laboratory at NIST, has joined the GQI Board of Advisors. Roger McKinlay, Chair of UKQuantum and former Quantum Technologies Challenge Director at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), has also joined the advisory network. Additionally, Dr. Irit Idan, senior technology executive and former Executive Vice President of R&D at RAFAEL Advanced Defense Systems, has joined the GQI Executive Circle. Together, they bring extensive expertise in quantum technology policy, R&D strategy, defense systems, and international program execution to GQI.
