Who’s News: Strategic Leadership Updates at PsiQuantum, Q.ANT, Quantum Algorithms Institute, Qblox, QuSecure, Unitary Foundation, and Q-CTRL

PsiQuantum has announced a significant shift in its executive leadership as the company enters a phase of large-scale deployment. Victor Peng, a veteran computing executive and former President of AMD, has been appointed Interim CEO. This appointment enables Co-Founder Jeremy O’Brien to step into the role of Executive Chairman, where he will lead the Board and focus on long-term strategy and key partnerships. Peng, who previously led Xilinx through its $49 billion acquisition by AMD, will manage day-to-day operations and the execution of PsiQuantum’s utility-scale quantum computing sites in Australia and Chicago. Q.ANT has strengthened its operational leadership with the appointment of semiconductor veteran Dr. Lars Bach as VP Operations. Dr. Bach brings over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and high-tech sectors, most recently serving as COO at MICLEDI Microdisplays. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for driving operational excellence and scaling the supply chain to support the industrialization of Q.ANT’s photonic processors and Native Processing Servers. Quantum Algorithms Institute (QAI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathryn Hayashi as its new Board Chair. A respected leader in science commercialization and finance, Hayashi most recently served as President and CEO of TRIUMF Innovations. With over 25 years of experience, she has secured more than $200 million in investment to scale innovation-driven organizations. Her leadership will be pivotal as QAI continues to accelerate the adoption of quantum technologies and strengthen the ecosystem in British Columbia. The announcement can be found here.

Qblox has announced a strategic expansion of its executive team to support global growth and the development of scalable quantum control stacks:

  • Philip van der Wilt joins as Chief Revenue Officer, leading global commercial execution and partnerships. He brings over a decade of leadership experience from Samsara, ServiceNow, and Dell Technologies.
  • Roger Isaac has been named Chief Technology Officer. A hands-on executive with over 60 U.S. patents, Isaac previously served as VP of Engineering at Indie Semiconductor and CTO at Keyssa.
  • Evelyn Doyle joins as Chief Human Resources Officer, bringing 20 years of experience in organizational transformation, most recently as Head of People and Culture for Patagonia’s International Region. The news release detailing these appointments is available here.

QuSecure has appointed Brian Cunningham as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Growth. Cunningham, a former U.S. Navy SEAL Commander and Special Operations officer, joins the post-quantum cybersecurity leader to scale federal and commercial adoption of its QuProtect platform. His background includes scaling mission-critical systems and serving as COO of FoundationaLLM.AI. His appointment details are available here.

Unitary Foundation has named Ben Castanon as its first CEO. Castanon has been with the Foundation for over three years, serving as Chief of Staff and COO. Under his leadership, the non-profit has significantly expanded its grantmaking and open-source initiatives, including the unitaryCON workshop series and the opening of Unitary Foundation France. Q-CTRL has welcomed internationally recognized quantum sensing pioneer Dr. Malo Cadoret as Principal Scientist. Dr. Cadoret, an expert in atomic interferometry and mobile quantum gravimetry, will lead technical efforts in Q-CTRL’s Quantum Sensing Division.
