Bluefors Expands U.S. Production Facilities in Syracuse, New York to Lead Dilution Refrigerator Manufacturing

Bluefors has officially opened its expanded production facility in Syracuse, New York, significantly increasing its capacity to manufacture Cryomech-branded cryocoolers and producing dilution refrigerators in the USA for the first time. This expansion addresses the growing demand for cryogenic systems necessary for quantum technology applications, including quantum computing and sensing, with a projected high global market growth.

CEO Jonas Geust highlighted that this expansion makes Bluefors the largest producer of dilution refrigerators in the United States, reinforcing the company’s commitment to supporting the quantum sector’s growth. The new facility adds over 35,000 square feet of space, nearly doubling production capacity for cryocoolers, which are essential for maintaining the ultra-low temperatures required for quantum chips.

In addition to the manufacturing expansion, Bluefors has established a spare parts hub in Syracuse, improving service levels and delivery times for customers in North America. This development marks a significant step in enhancing Bluefors’ operations and capabilities in the U.S. market.
