Eviden, a leader in advanced computing under the Atos Group, has installed IQM Spark, a 5-qubit superconducting quantum computer, for educational purposes and experimental research. This partnership with IQM Quantum Computers aims to make quantum technology more accessible by offering clients the ability to experiment and develop quantum applications.
IQM Spark offers high-fidelity qubit gates for reliable quantum operations and will be physically available at Eviden’s facility in Angers, France, with remote access via the cloud. This setup will enable research labs, universities, and industrial players to explore quantum programming, noise models, and other aspects of quantum computing.
Eviden will integrate the machine into its Qaptiva offering, which provides a comprehensive quantum application development environment, enriched by consulting services and partnerships. The initiative highlights Eviden’s commitment to lowering the barriers to quantum adoption, making quantum computing more affordable and accessible to a broader audience.
Dr. Cédric Bourrasset of Eviden emphasized that the installation marks a significant milestone in the company’s quantum journey, enhancing their capabilities in quantum emulation and computing. IQM’s Co-CEO, Dr. Mikko Välimäki, and VP of Global Business, Sylwia Barthel de Weydenthal, echoed the importance of the collaboration in accelerating commercial quantum adoption and fostering future quantum innovators.
