French Consortium RESQUE Forms to Advance Post-Quantum Cryptography for Secure Communication Networks

Six French cyber players, including Thales, TheGreenBow, CryptoExperts, CryptoNext Security, ANSSI, and Inria, have formed the RESQUE consortium to develop post-quantum cryptography solutions safeguarding communication networks against quantum computer threats. With €6 million ($6.5M USD) funding from the French government and EU, the project aims to create hybrid post-quantum VPNs and high-performance hardware security modules. Thales leads algorithm integration, while TheGreenBow focuses on VPN expertise, and CryptoExperts and CryptoNext Security handle encryption. ANSSI contributes research framework, and Inria provides fundamental research support. Thales, with €17.6 billion ($19.1M USD) sales in 2022, is a global leader in advanced technologies. CryptoExperts specializes in cryptographic consulting, while CryptoNext Security offers quantum-resistant cryptography solutions. TheGreenBow, established in 1998, provides VPN solutions globally, and ANSSI serves as France’s national cybersecurity authority.
