Indian Quantum Tech Startup Quanfluence Raises $2 Million in Seed Funding

Indian quantum technology startup Quanfluence has raised $2 million in seed funding to enhance its product offerings and develop its quantum computing solutions. The funding round was led by pi Ventures, with contributions from Golden Sparrow and Reena Dayal, founder of the Quantum Ecosystems and Technology Council of India.

Founded in 2021, Quanfluence specializes in photonics-based quantum technologies and operates from the IITM Incubation Centre. The startup’s groundbreaking approach utilizes Time-Multiplexed Optical Coherent Ising Machines (CIMs) to solve optimization problems much faster and more efficiently than classical and current quantum computers. By leveraging the physics of light, Quanfluence’s Optical Ising machines can process hundreds of variables simultaneously, offering a scalable and energy-efficient solution for industries like finance, logistics, and healthcare.

The funding comes at a time when quantum technology is gaining momentum in India, supported by initiatives such as the National Quantum Mission. The company plans to continue developing its room-temperature photonic quantum computers, which could potentially reshape the future of high-performance computing.

Quanfluence’s team, with over 20 years of experience in photonics and semiconductors, has established collaborations with prominent institutions like IIT Madras and IISER Mohali to advance their research and product development. The company’s innovations are positioning it as a leader in solving optimization-heavy challenges across multiple sectors, setting the stage for significant advancements in quantum computing from India.
