PQShield and SiFive Collaborate to Future-Proof RISC-V with Advanced Post-Quantum Cryptography

PQShield and SiFive have partnered to integrate post-quantum cryptography (PQC) into SiFive’s RISC-V processors, enhancing the security of critical systems in sectors like aerospace, defense, automotive, and consumer electronics. PQShield’s PQPlatform-CoPro technology will be embedded into SiFive’s Essential and Performance CPU families, aligning with the newly established NIST standards for PQC, which are designed to protect against future quantum computer-aided attacks.

The partnership also enables PQShield’s cryptographic libraries to utilize SiFive’s vector-enabled Performance P470 CPUs, accelerating the adoption of PQC in high-performance computing applications. This integration ensures that RISC-V processors can maintain top-tier security without compromising performance, offering a quantum-safe solution that meets the demands of modern computing environments.

As quantum computing poses a growing threat to current encryption methods, this collaboration positions SiFive’s processors as a robust and secure choice for developers, ensuring compliance with the latest cybersecurity standards. The partnership is a significant step towards safeguarding next-generation technologies against the evolving landscape of cyber threats.

Both companies highlight the importance of this collaboration in advancing the security of RISC-V technologies, reinforcing their commitment to innovation and the protection of critical digital infrastructures.
