Qrypt Awarded STTR Phase 1 Contract by AFWERX and Department of Air Force to Enhance National Defense Against Quantum Threats

Qrypt has been awarded an STTR Phase 1 contract by AFWERX and the Department of Air Force (DAF), aimed at enhancing national defense against quantum threats. Teaming up with the University of Texas at San Antonio, Qrypt will focus on bolstering cybersecurity with its quantum-secure encryption solution. The collaboration aims to address vulnerabilities in traditional encryption methods and combat emerging threats like “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks through Quantum Key Generation (QKG), which enables the independent generation of encryption keys without transmission. Qrypt’s Chief Technology Officer, Denis Mandich, emphasizes the importance of advancing quantum-secure encryption to protect critical communications and sectors. Partnering with the National Security Collaboration Center (NSCC) at UTSA, Qrypt seeks to evaluate its solution on DAF-specific use-cases and challenges, contributing to the advancement of quantum-resistant cryptography.
