Quantinuum and STFC Hartree Centre Form Strategic Partnership to Propel Quantum Innovation in the UK

Quantinuum and the STFC Hartree Centre have announced a partnership to boost quantum innovation in the UK. This collaboration grants Hartree Centre access to Quantinuum’s H-Series quantum computers via the cloud and on-premise. The partnership will foster advancements in quantum chemistry, computational biology, AI, and cybersecurity, enhancing scientific research and economic growth. A company spokesman indicates that the aspiration in this partnership with Hartree is to deploy Quantinuum’s next-generation Helios quantum computer on-premise in 2025, supporting highly reliable qubits at an unprecedented scale for tackling complex challenges that can no longer be simulated by classical computers.

Raj Hazra, CEO of Quantinuum, highlighted the company’s commitment to supporting research and innovation in the UK. The Hartree Centre, part of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), will leverage Quantinuum’s cutting-edge hardware to benefit various research areas, including exascale computing algorithms and climate resilience.

The partnership includes tailored educational programs to enhance scientists’ understanding of quantum technologies. This initiative aligns with the Hartree Centre’s five-year plan to harness advanced digital technologies for UK industry.

Quantinuum’s H-Series quantum computers, known for their high performance, have consistently set records for quantum volume and two-qubit gate fidelity.
