U.S. Department of Commerce Adds 22 Chinese Organizations Working in Quantum to Its Trade Blacklist

The U.S. Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) added 37 entities in China to the Entity List under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These additions include 22 organizations seeking to acquire US-origin items for use in their country’s quantum programs. These new organizations are additions to the Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at Microscale, QuantumCTek Co., and Shanghai QuantumCTek Co., Ltd. and others that were previously placed on the list in November 2021. Entities on this list cannot do business with U.S. firms without prior approval from the Commerce Department.
