Quantum Circuits, Inc. (QCI) has introduced its latest hardware innovation, the Aqumen Seeker, an 8-qubit quantum processor featuring error-detecting dual-rail qubits. This release marks a significant step in QCI’s strategy to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing, complementing its full-stack quantum computing system of hardware, cloud services, software development kits, and simulators.

QCI’s unique dual-rail cavity qubits integrate quantum error detection (QED), error detection handling (EDH), and real-time control flow (RTCF). These features enhance system performance, enabling efficient and reliable quantum operations without relying on brute-force scaling techniques. Algorithmiq indicated it will be integrating its error mitigation technology with Quantum Circuits’ cutting-edge dual-rail qubit architecture for use in a study of drug metabolism.

“Our approach is pragmatic: correct errors first, then scale,” said Rob Schoelkopf, Chief Scientist and Co-founder. “By focusing on high fidelity and efficiency per qubit, we avoid the inefficiencies associated with scaling first and correcting later.”

The Aqumen Seeker processor supports enterprise customers in developing and testing quantum algorithms on a complete hardware-software platform. This follows QCI’s $60 million Series B funding round, which focuses on advancing qubit efficiency and scaling. CEO Ray Smets emphasized, “Customers are using our system to explore quantum use cases across industries, positioning themselves at the forefront of quantum computing advancements.”

QCI’s innovations are particularly relevant as enterprises increasingly prioritize error correction and scalability in their quantum computing strategies. The company’s full-stack solutions aim to accelerate the timeline to commercial quantum readiness, enabling applications in fields such as optimization, cryptography, and materials science.
