KDDI CorporationKDDI ResearchJij Inc.QunaSys Inc., and Waseda University have formed a partnership to develop a common AI and quantum computing infrastructure, aiming to expand use cases and accelerate the commercialization of quantum computers. The collaboration will focus on creating a seamless platform that integrates AI and quantum computing, enabling users to leverage quantum capabilities without requiring deep technical expertise. Key areas of focus include optimization problems, such as logistics and energy management, and chemical calculations for material development in renewable energy.

The initiative will leverage the strengths of each partner: KDDI and KDDI Research bring expertise in telecommunications and use case development, Jij contributes optimization algorithms and software tools, QunaSys provides quantum chemistry algorithms, and Waseda University offers advanced quantum optimization techniques. The platform will feature API-like interfaces and an application portal, making quantum computing accessible to non-specialists while accommodating evolving AI and quantum technologies.

This partnership aims to bridge the gap between classical and quantum computing, fostering innovation in industries such as telecommunications, manufacturing, and energy. By combining their expertise, the partners seek to accelerate the practical application of quantum computing, addressing complex challenges in optimization and material science.
