QuantrolOx, a provider of software for automated tuning and characterization of quantum processors, and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), India’s R&D organization, have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI). The LoI establishes a collaboration to explore the co-development of quantum computing technologies to support government laboratories and academics pursuing quantum computing R&D in India.
The partnership aims to co-develop an indigenous quantum software stack and advance tools for the tuning and characterization of various quantum computing platforms. QuantrolOx specializes in its Quantum EDGE software for automated quantum processor characterization and tune-up, which is noted for its ability to create a 2-qubit gate in under 25 minutes. C-DAC is engaged in nationally significant quantum projects, including the indigenous development of Quantum Processing Units (QPUs), cryogenic electronics, and control hardware as part of its Hybrid HPC-Quantum Mission.
The partnership is positioned as a strategic step toward building a quantum computing ecosystem in India, which aligns with C-DAC’s mission to strengthen domestic semiconductor design capabilities through the ChipIN initiative. Vishal Chatrath, CEO of QuantrolOx, and Shri. E. Magesh, Director General of C-DAC, both commented on the partnership’s role in advancing India’s technological leadership in developing indigenous quantum hardware and software. The collaboration aims to accelerate R&D timelines and make progress toward high-quality qubits, which are essential for fault-tolerant quantum computers.
