Rigetti Computing, Inc. (Nasdaq: RGTI) has announced that it has secured purchase orders totaling approximately $5.7 million for two 9-qubit Novera™ quantum computing systems. Delivery for both systems is expected in the first half of 2026.

One system is being purchased by an Asian technology manufacturing company, which will use it as a testbed to develop internal quantum computing expertise and validate its own quantum technologies. The other system is being purchased by a California-based applied physics and artificial intelligence startup, which will use it for quantum hardware and error correction research. The Novera™ QPU is based on Rigetti’s Ankaa™-class architecture, which features a square lattice of qubits and tunable couplers. The system also includes a compatible dilution refrigerator and control systems and is manufactured in Rigetti’s Fab-1, a dedicated quantum device manufacturing facility.

Dr. Subodh Kulkarni, CEO of Rigetti, noted that the purchase orders indicate an increased demand for on-premises quantum computing systems from national labs and researchers. The Novera™ systems are designed for hands-on R&D, and both are upgradeable, allowing customers to increase the qubit count for more complex computations.
