QuantWare, Q-CTRL, and Qblox have announced the launch of the Quantum Utility Block (QUB), a family of full-stack, pre-validated quantum computer reference implementations. The QUB model is built on the Quantum Open Architecture (QOA), designed to provide a cost-effective and accessible path for organizations to procure superconducting quantum systems at research or enterprise scale.
The QUB architecture integrates three core technologies: QuantWare Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) (available in up to 41-qubit configurations), Qblox control stacks, and Q-CTRL’s AI-powered infrastructure software. Specifically, Q-CTRL’s Boulder Opal Scale Up delivers autonomous, high-performance QPU calibration, while Fire Opal provides automated error suppression in algorithms.
The first deployment of this reference system, called the Quantum Platform for the Advancement of Commercialization (Q-PAC), is scheduled for 2026 in Colorado, hosted by Elevate Quantum—a U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) Designated TechHub. Q-PAC will serve as a national resource, offering researchers and enterprises hands-on access to a validated, modular, and scalable platform.
Matt Rijlaarsdam, CEO of QuantWare, noted that QUB removes traditional barriers to quantum adoption, allowing organizations to deploy proven quantum architectures faster and with complete control over their technology future. The collaborative effort strengthens the QOA model globally and supports the Elevate Quantum mission to accelerate U.S. quantum commercialization.
