Central India’s Ramdeobaba University (RBU) in Nagpur, Maharashtra, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Secunderabad-based deep-tech startup QClairvoyance Quantum Labs Pvt. Ltd. to construct two specialized quantum laboratories on campus. The two-year academic-industrial initiative will establish a dedicated Quantum Software Lab alongside a Quantum Communication Hardware Lab to provide undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students with applied, hands-on infrastructure.
The collaboration aligns with broader workforce development initiatives under India’s National Quantum Mission (NQM), which prioritizes bridging textbook theoretical physics with commercial engineering competencies. Under the agreement, RBU will supply the physical laboratory space and institutional backing, while QClairvoyance will deploy educational cloud simulation tools, physical photonic hardware kits, and dedicated faculty-in-residence.

Bridging Algorithmic Simulation with Physical Optical Hardware
The campus deployment combines software simulation with benchtop physical quantum optics. The software lab will center on QClair-Edu, QClairvoyance’s proprietary cloud platform. The platform operates within standard web browsers without requiring local installations or specialized GPU accelerators, allowing students to design gate-level circuits, evaluate NISQ-era optimization algorithms, and analyze decoherence and noise models interactively.
Complementing the software environment, the hardware facility will host physical Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) training apparatuses. By executing physical key exchanges and testing encryption channels directly against classical eavesdropping simulations, students and faculty will gain operational exposure to the physics governing quantum-safe cybersecurity.
To ensure long-term curricular integration, QClairvoyance will depute two PhD- or postdoctoral-level quantum specialists to RBU for a full 12-month tenure as Professors of Practice. The specialists will instruct undergraduate and graduate coursework, lead laboratory sessions, mentor student research projects, and assist faculty in securing competitive state and national research grants.
