Quantum Dice, an Oxford University spin-out specializing in quantum random number generator (QRNG) technology, and SCI Semiconductor, a UK-based developer of secure silicon devices, have announced a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop solutions targeting advanced security systems. Their collaboration aims to serve sectors with stringent security requirements, such as smart energy, aerospace, defense, telecommunications, automotive, and medical.
The partnership will integrate Quantum Dice’s patented DISC™ protocol, which enables continuous quantum assurance and real-time entropy measurement, with SCI Semiconductor’s expertise in high-integrity silicon and CHERI (Capability Hardware Enhanced RISC Instructions) technology. The combined solution will focus on creating memory-safe semiconductor devices that provide long-term protection against modern vulnerabilities.
The companies unveiled this collaboration at the IoT Security Foundation (IoTSF) Annual Conference on October 23, 2024, where they showcased their joint efforts to address future security challenges. For more information, visit the original press release provided by Quantum Dice here.
