Tel Aviv-based technology company Quantum X Labs Inc. (NASDAQ: QXL) has announced that its subsidiary, Nuclear Quantum, has developed a quantum circuit-based approach to model nuclear particle transport. The technology maps physical particle propagation and random-walk dynamics directly into a quantum computational framework, addressing long-standing computational bottlenecks in Monte Carlo simulations used across nuclear medicine, shielding design, and system optimization.

The newly demonstrated framework encodes gamma-photon trajectory histories into quantum states and establishes the core quantum oracle necessary to interface with Grover-inspired amplitude amplification algorithms. Conventional particle transport simulations require extensive computational runtimes on classical high-performance computing (HPC) clusters due to the exponential scaling of probabilistic scattering events. By representing particle propagation dynamics as quantum operators, Nuclear Quantum aims to accelerate trajectory sampling and enable higher-fidelity simulations for complex radiation transport scenarios.

Physical Transport Model Quantum State Encoding Grover Oracle Integration
  • Gamma-photon propagation parameters. • Random-walk dynamics mapped to QPU. • Quantum search & sampling oracle.
  • Scattering & attenuation inputs. • Multi-particle history superposition. • Quadratic speedup for Monte Carlo.

Nuclear Quantum plans to extend the model to multi-particle transport regimes, optimize circuit depths for hybrid quantum-classical hardware, and evaluate its integration into commercial radiation therapy planning and diagnostic nuclear medicine software suites.
