Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) provider QuSecure, Inc. has demonstrated operational readiness for its flagship cybersecurity platform, QuProtect R3, at the U.S. Army’s Project Convergence Capstone 6 (PCC6) experimentation event. Held at the National Training Center (NTC) at Fort Irwin, California, the live-force exercise tested tactical capabilities under real-world combat conditions. The successful deployment elevated QuProtect R3 to Technical Readiness Level (TRL) 7, establishing a deployable reference path for post-quantum network defense across the Department of Defense (DoD).

Operational Hardening for Tactical Mission Systems

Developed through a multi-year Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) transition program alongside the Army C5ISR Center, QuProtect R3 was integrated directly into active tactical networks operated by soldiers during multi-domain maneuvers:

  • Cryptographic Agility & Centralized Control: QuProtect R3 enables security administrators to dynamically set, swap, and enforce cryptographic algorithms—ranging from standard TLS updates to NIST-standardized PQC algorithms—across enterprise, cloud, and air-gapped tactical networks without requiring application rewrites.
  • Automated Discovery & Inventory: The platform builds an automated Cryptographic Bill of Materials (CBOM), detecting non-compliant or quantum-vulnerable encryption algorithms across live mission nodes.
  • Zero Trust Enforcement: Mitigates both immediate cyber threats and long-term “harvest now, decrypt later” adversary vectors by securing tactical data channels before projected quantum capabilities arrive.

Meeting Federal Compliance Mandates Ahead of Schedule

The TRL-7 milestone arrives as federal agencies and defense components align with binding timelines under Executive Order 14412 (issued June 22, 2026), which mandates the complete migration of High Value Assets (HVAs) and high-impact systems to PQC for key establishment by December 31, 2030, and digital signatures by December 31, 2031.

Led by Joey Lupo (Product Manager) and Brian Cunningham (EVP of Growth and Strategy), QuSecure confirms that the QuProtect R3 platform is immediately available for TLS modernization, cryptographic inventorying, and PQC deployment across federal agencies, military branches, and commercial critical infrastructure.
