The Unitary Foundation has launched its 2026 Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) survey, an annual initiative designed to collect information on the quantum open-source software community. The survey includes questions on demographics, research, tools, and platforms, with the goal of providing an informative and representative snapshot of the community and field.
The survey will remain open through Thursday, October 29, 2025. All anonymized results will be analyzed by the Unitary Foundation and shared publicly to serve as a resource for the field’s tools, research, and resources.
This annual survey is positioned as a resource for anyone working to build a better quantum computing community, helping to track the evolution of the field and its impact on quantum technologies. It also helps stakeholders improve their products/services/events to better accommodate users.
This is a yearly survey that the Unitary Foundation has been doing since 2022. You can view the results of their 2025 survey here. Read more about this initiative on the Unitary Foundation blog here and access the survey to start filling it in here.
