Quantonation, a leading venture capital firm specializing in quantum technologies, has recruited Dr. Will Zeng as a new partner. Dr. Zeng was most recently the Head of Quantum Research at Goldman Sachs and also has been the founder and President of the Unitary Fund, a non-profit organization working to advance the quantum ecosystem. Before that he was one of the earliest employees of Rigetti Computing where he built and led software and applications team to launch of the Forest quantum programming environment and Rigetti’s Quantum Cloud Services. Dr. Zeng will leverage his experience to identify, invest in, and mentor promising startup companies for the Quantonation portfolio. Quantum Computing Inc. (QCI) has promoted Chris Boehmler as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Boehmler started with QCI in 2022 as the Controller and has over 20 years of financial expertise in other companies including Bridgewater Associates, Intelsat, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Credit Suisse. Chris Roberts, the company’s previous CFO will continue to work with the company in a consulting role as the General Counsel and Strategic Advisor. HQS Quantum Simulations has appointed Michael Bolle as the Chair of its Advisory Board. He will be helping with the technological development of HQS Quantum Simulations’ software to ensure that the software meets the requirements of research and industry. Dr. Bolle was previously the CTO and CDO of Robert Bosch GmbH and has also worked with Schott, the Zeiss Group, and other companies. Infleqtion has announced that Jay Wisham has joined the company as an Executive Advisor. Mr. Wisham was previously the Executive Director of Army Applications Laboratory (AAL) and has held multiple roles in both defense and the private sector over the past 25 years to develop new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, into Army-ready solutions. He will be helping the company with strategic planning, partnerships, and finding real-world applications for the company’s technology in both the security and commercial sectors.
