Quantum Circuits, Inc. (QCI) has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to integrate NVIDIA CUDA-Q programming capabilities into its Aqumen software suite. This integration is positioned as the first of its kind with a dual-rail quantum computing environment and aims to advance hybrid high-performance computing (HPC)-quantum workflows for developers.
QCI’s technology is based on superconducting dual-rail qubits, which are designed to natively detect erasure errors. This built-in error detection is intended to enable a more efficient path to scalability and lower overhead for large-scale systems. The integration with CUDA-Q provides Aqumen users with an environment to create and simulate applications with both quantum computers and GPUs. To start, users can prototype and test CUDA-Q applications on AquSim, QCI’s simulator, as a precursor to running on the company’s full-stack quantum computing systems.
The integration with CUDA-Q allows Aqumen users to begin writing and running quantum applications immediately. Core CUDA-Q programming features provide gates for universal quantum computing and feedforward for executing conditional statements in real time. NVIDIA’s Tim Costa, senior director of Quantum and CUDA-X, commented that the work combines the capabilities of accelerated computing with QCI’s quantum processors, enabling researchers to develop hybrid applications that leverage dual-rail superconducting qubits.
