
Q-CTRL has expanded its Board of Directors with the appointments of Nicole Conner, Partner at Airbus Ventures, and Per Roman, Managing Partner and Founder of Bullhound Capital. Conner brings extensive legal and aerospace sector experience, while Roman offers expertise in guiding growth-stage technology companies. IonQ has strengthened its engineering and legal leadership teams. Dr. Rick Muller has been appointed Vice President of Quantum Systems Accelerator. Dr. Muller, a former director at the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) and a leader at Sandia National Laboratories, will head IonQ’s quantum computing systems development. His expertise will support the company’s roadmap towards building powerful quantum computers. Additionally, Paul T. Dacier has been named Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. Dacier brings over 35 years of legal, executive, and board experience, including more than 25 years as General Counsel of EMC Corporation. The University of Maryland has appointed Dr. Gretchen Campbell as Associate Vice President for Quantum Research and Education. Dr. Campbell, an internationally recognized physicist, previously served as assistant director for quantum information science and director of the National Quantum Coordination Office at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). In her new role, she will lead efforts to enhance UMD’s prominence in quantum science and technology, expand quantum curricula, and forge strategic partnerships. The announcement can be found here.
eleQtron has appointed Kaoru Naganuma as Chief Product Officer. Naganuma brings international experience from leading technology companies such as Apple, Intel, and Tesla. In his new role, he will be responsible for product development and industrial scaling of eleQtron’s MAGIC technology, aiming to translate technological innovations into marketable, scalable, and industrially viable products. JPMorgan Chase has hired Rob Otter to lead its quantum computing research team. Otter was most recently State Street’s global head of digital technology and quantum computing and previously led JPMorgan’s Onyx blockchain unit.
