Arqit Quantum Inc. (Nasdaq: ARQQ) has announced the commercial launch of Encryption Intelligence (EI), an automated tool designed to provide a comprehensive cryptographic inventory for enterprises. The product is engineered to facilitate the transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) by identifying legacy algorithms and deprecated protocols across complex digital environments, including cloud services, operational technology (OT), and long-lived infrastructure.
The transition to quantum-safe encryption represents a significant architectural shift for global IT infrastructure. Arqit’s EI product addresses the “discovery” phase of this migration—a step increasingly mandated by national regulatory bodies. The platform provides real-time visibility into an organization’s cryptographic dependencies, exposing hidden risks such as obsolete encryption methods that remain active in acquired systems or network traffic. By automating the mapping of these assets, EI enables security teams to build a prioritized migration roadmap that aligns with emerging compliance standards without disrupting business continuity.
The launch follows Arqit’s selection by the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to participate in its Post-Quantum Cryptography Pilot. Under the Assured Cyber Security Consultancy Scheme, this pilot validates Arqit’s methodology for cryptographic discovery and migration planning. Trevor Graham, Chief Security Officer at Arqit, emphasized the importance of visibility in the migration process, noting that organizations cannot effectively manage or secure cryptographic assets they cannot see. The NCSC endorsement reinforces the product’s position as a verified tool for critical infrastructure and government agencies preparing for the “Store Now, Decrypt Later” (SNDL) threat posed by future quantum computers.
Beyond initial discovery, Encryption Intelligence provides continuous monitoring to ensure lasting protection as the cryptographic landscape evolves. This “crypto-agility” allows organizations to adapt to new standards and algorithm updates as they are finalized by bodies like NIST. The product is available as a stand-alone software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution or through Arqit’s certified systems integrator partners. This lifecycle management approach ensures that enterprises not only migrate to quantum-safe standards but also maintain a secure, optimized encryption posture against both classical and emerging quantum threats.
