Bluefors has launched the Ultra-Compact LD, a space-efficient dilution refrigerator system designed for quantum research labs with limited space. The system integrates a Bluefors LD cryostat, Gas Handling System Generation 2 and pulse tube compressor into a single compact unit, offering 10U rack space for measurement electronics.

The Ultra-Compact LD features advanced vibration dampening and operates 8-14 dB quieter than standard models, making it suitable for environments where researchers work near the equipment. It maintains the reliability and versatility of the Bluefors LD platform, with customization options including superconducting magnets (up to 3 Tesla) and enhanced radiation shielding. The system’s base temperature of <10 mK and cooling power of up to 500 μW at 100 mK ensure robust performance for quantum computing and other low-temperature applications.

The integration of the latest Generation 2 Gas Handling System and Control Software enhances ease of use, with features like automation and cryogenic state awareness. The system’s compact design and low-vibration operation make it ideal for high-performance computing centers and space-constrained labs.
