IQM Quantum Computers and TOYO Corporation, a company focused on measurement technology and technological innovation in Japan, have signed a distribution agreement. The partnership is intended to accelerate quantum computing adoption in the Japanese market.
Under the agreement, TOYO will market and sell IQM’s on-premises superconducting quantum computers to universities, research institutions, and enterprises. The systems to be distributed include IQM Spark, a 5-qubit system, and IQM Radiance, which ranges from 20-qubit to 150-qubit. The partnership also aims to promote the cultivation of quantum talent and the societal implementation of quantum technology.
This collaboration is positioned to support the Japanese government’s quantum strategy, which targets 10 million domestic quantum users by 2030. The partnership reinforces IQM’s presence in the APAC region, complementing its existing collaborations with Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). As part of this new initiative, TOYO plans to establish a specialized unit for quantum technology by the end of 2025, with the goal of promoting new applications and use cases for quantum computers.
