Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services, has unveiled its Quantum Safe Assessment service to help enterprises prepare for the security threats posed by quantum computing. The new service is designed to identify and analyze cryptographic risk exposure across an organization’s entire IT estate and develop a customized transformation roadmap to transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).

The service addresses the growing security imperative to protect data against the risk of traditional encryption methods being compromised by advanced quantum systems. Kyndryl’s approach provides a comprehensive evaluation of a digital environment to advise, prepare, design, and implement quantum-safe solutions.

Key features and capabilities of the service include:

  • Encryption Discovery: Creating a Cryptographic Bill of Materials (CBOM) to identify all encryption methods currently protecting services, applications, and data layers across the enterprise.
  • Risk-Based Classification: Evaluating and prioritizing critical systems and third-party interfaces (such as cloud infrastructure and payment gateways) most vulnerable to quantum attacks, based on data sensitivity and business impact.
  • Transformation Roadmap: Developing a phased plan for transitioning to new quantum-resistant encryption standards and achieving full crypto agility.
  • Zero Trust Integration: Integrating quantum readiness with Kyndryl’s Zero Trust Adoption Framework.

Kyndryl highlighted a significant awareness gap, citing its 2025 Kyndryl Readiness Report, which found that only four percent of leaders believe quantum will be the technology with the greatest impact on their businesses in the next three years, underscoring the need for proactive preparation.
