The Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) will invest up to CA$675,000 ($471K USD) over three years into QAI Ventures to grow Calgary’s quantum innovation ecosystem. The funding will support a two-phase program consisting of a pre-accelerator and a five-month accelerator, aimed at training 54 individuals and funding three Calgary-based startups developing applied quantum solutions.

Participants will gain access to global expertise, mentorship, commercialization support, and advanced software tools. The accelerator will be hosted at Quantum City, strengthening ties between academia and industry and embedding QAI Ventures within Calgary’s growing quantum cluster. The initiative also aims to generate a sustainable talent pipeline and position Calgary as a leader in applied quantum and AI technologies.

QAI Ventures, based in Switzerland, focuses on building quantum-AI ecosystems. Its Calgary presence is expected to drive collaboration in sectors such as finance, life sciences, and energy, where quantum computing can offer transformative benefits. This latest OCIF-backed project contributes to broader efforts to diversify Calgary’s economy and expand its advanced technology base.
