OVHcloud has confirmed that it will begin offering quantum processing units (QPUs) via its Quantum Cloud platform starting September 2025, beginning with Pasqal’s 100-qubit Orion Beta system based on neutral atom technology. This deployment follows the company’s selection in the AQUILA program, a French national initiative designed to stimulate domestic quantum adoption and ecosystem development. The QPU will be offered under a pay-as-you-go Quantum-as-a-Service (QaaS) model, with additional systems to follow by the end of 2025 and a total of at least eight QPUs expected by 2027—seven of which will be European.
The announcement also expands OVHcloud’s emulator portfolio, adding Quobly’s Qleo and Qperfect’s Mimiq to bring the total number of emulators hosted on its platform to eight. These additions enhance the company’s hybrid cloud offerings and provide a broader range of quantum simulation tools for developers. OVHcloud is continuing its investments in quantum security, confirming plans to deploy SSL certificates incorporating quantum entropy, as well as active R&D in post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD) in line with ANSSI recommendations.
Through its Quantum Cloud platform and Startup Program, which supports 17 quantum startups, OVHcloud aims to establish a long-term position in Europe’s quantum infrastructure. The company has also acquired Quandela’s MosaiQ photonic quantum computer for internal R&D and academic collaboration. These efforts reflect OVHcloud’s strategy to provide sovereign, scalable quantum resources integrated within its broader cloud ecosystem.
