Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, a Barcelona-based quantum computing company specializing in analog quantum chips, has announced a strategic collaboration with Oxigen Data Center, a regional provider of colocation and hybrid cloud solutions with HPC capabilities. The partnership is focused on jointly defining the technical and operational requirements for integrating multimodal quantum computers into commercial data centers, laying the groundwork for the next generation of hybrid quantum infrastructure in Europe.
The goal of the collaboration is to establish standards, interfaces, regulations, and operational frameworks necessary for commercial data centers (like Oxigen’s Tier III facilities) to seamlessly accommodate quantum hardware. This process will define the mutual requirements for interconnecting Qilimanjaro’s systems—which include both analog (based on fluxonium superconducting circuits, suited for complex simulation and AI) and digital quantum computers—alongside high-performance classical resources.
This work is essential for the future quantum cloud era, as the computational landscape shifts toward a hybrid classical–quantum paradigm. Qilimanjaro and Oxigen Data Center are positioning Barcelona and Europe as a core innovation hub, aiming to create a centralized, fully hybrid system accessible via Qilimanjaro’s SpeQtrum QaaS platform. Marta P. Estarellas, CEO of Qilimanjaro, emphasized the necessity of defining how quantum processors and classical machines will communicate, scale, and operate together within industrial infrastructure.
