Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech has announced a new partnership with the Open Quantum Institute (OQI), a multilateral initiative hosted at CERN, to promote global access to quantum computing. Qilimanjaro will provide cloud access to its multimodal quantum platform, SpeQtrum Quantum-as-a-Service (QaaS), which is intended to support OQI’s mission of accelerating applications for humanity.
The SpeQtrum QaaS platform provides remote access to Qilimanjaro’s on-premise multimodal quantum data center, which tightly integrates fluxonium superconducting chips for analog quantum computation, commercial digital QPUs, and classical HPC resources within a unified environment. Qilimanjaro’s unique architecture uses analog quantum computers—which encode complex problems naturally within the system—to bypass the extensive error correction required by digital systems, offering near-term advantages in simulation and optimization.
Qilimanjaro’s contribution directly supports the OQI’s pillar of “Access for All,” empowering users worldwide to prototype hybrid algorithms and run near-term applications. The OQI, hosted at CERN, promotes global, inclusive, and responsible access to quantum computing, focusing on use cases aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Qilimanjaro’s participation reinforces its roadmap of democratizing early quantum access, allowing users to co-design the next generation of quantum applications. Marta P. Estarellas, CEO of Qilimanjaro, noted that the company is committed to making quantum technologies accessible, responsible, and impactful.
