Rigetti UK Limited, a subsidiary of Rigetti Computing, has secured an Innovate UK grant, collaborating with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Imperial College London, and Standard Chartered. The consortium’s focus is on developing quantum machine learning techniques to enhance financial institutions’ ability to process and interpret complex data streams. Financial tasks such as credit risk evaluation and market-making services often face challenges with classical machine learning methods due to the intricate nature of data streams. The collaboration aims to leverage Rigetti’s quantum computing capabilities, AWS’s classical high-performance computing resources, Imperial College London’s expertise in classical machine learning models, and Standard Chartered’s datasets. The research objectives include advancing quantum signature kernels, benchmarking results against classical methods, and building quantum algorithms for efficiently computing signatures and signature kernels for extensive and high-dimensional data streams. This project, initiated on January 1, 2024, is set to last 18 months. For additional information, you can access the original press release from the company here.
