SandboxAQ has been selected for NATO’s 2025 Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) cohort, joining around 70 companies chosen from over 2,600 applicants across 32 NATO countries. DIANA supports dual-use technologies that address key areas such as sensing, surveillance, secure communications, and critical infrastructure.

As part of the Sensing & Surveillance group, SandboxAQ will further develop and test AQNav, its magnetic anomaly navigation system. AQNav, which does not rely on satellite-based navigation, is designed for resilience against GPS jamming and spoofing. It has undergone over 200 flight test hours with the U.S. Air Force, Acubed (Airbus’ innovation center), Boeing, and a U.S. allied government. AQNav has been tested in multiple military exercises and demonstrated its capability as a primary navigation source.

The U.S. Air Force and Acubed have extended contracts with SandboxAQ to explore further applications of AQNav in both military and commercial aviation. Participation in DIANA will provide SandboxAQ with additional resources, testing environments, and expert support to advance AQNav’s capabilities.
