South Carolina Quantum (SC Quantum) has launched the SCQ Summer Sprint 2025, offering free access to selected quantum education platforms through early August. The initiative targets professionals, educators, and institutional leaders in the Southeastern U.S., aiming to build foundational quantum literacy across diverse sectors. Participants are invited to evaluate the platforms and provide structured feedback, which will inform a follow-on research effort focused on improving access and usability of quantum learning tools.

The featured platforms include Q-CTRL’s Black Opal, qBraid, and QliteX. Black Opal is a self-paced, visual platform designed to teach core quantum computing concepts without requiring prior technical experience. It has over 26,000 users and has recently been adopted by a major bank to train financial teams. qBraid offers cloud-based training environments that support circuit design and programming, while QliteX focuses on early-stage learners and high school students through hands-on visual modules.

SC Quantum is using this pilot to assess the effectiveness of current tools and identify regional needs in quantum education. The program aligns with SC Quantum’s broader mission to build a skilled workforce capable of engaging with quantum technologies. As a finalist in the NSF’s Regional Innovation Engines program, SC Quantum continues to position the region as an emerging hub for talent development in the quantum sector.
