Strangeworks, a provider of quantum and high-performance computing software, has announced the acquisition of Quantagonia, a company specializing in advanced optimization and AI-powered decision-making solutions. The acquisition aims to integrate Quantagonia’s expertise in mathematical optimization and HybridSolver orchestration technology with Strangeworks’ AI and quantum infrastructure.
Quantagonia’s core technologies include a hardware-agnostic solver orchestration engine that manages multiple solvers in parallel. The company also developed AI-powered solutions that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to provide a natural language interface, which is intended to make complex planning problems accessible to non-technical users. This combined technology will be used to solve complex planning problems across industries such as life sciences, finance, energy, aerospace, logistics, and manufacturing.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Strangeworks’ market position and accelerate its strategic goals in Europe, expanding its presence with Quantagonia’s offices in Munich and Frankfurt. The combined company plans to accelerate progress in the quantum/classical optimization space.
