TreQ has successfully raised over $5 million in seed funding for her quantum computing start-up. The funding round, led by Lavrock Ventures and supported by the UK-based Creator Fund and firstminute capital, aims to advance TreQ’s mission of developing open-architecture quantum computers. Additionally, Green Sands Equity, a venture firm based in Silicon Valley, contributed to the round.

TreQ is based in both Milton Park, UK and Alexandria, Virginia and helps clients build on-premises quantum-readiness infrastructure and deliver complete quantum systems to enterprises and organizations worldwide. They will be using the funds to expand their team by adding additional engineers and technicians.

The start-up’s team has collectively built approximately a dozen quantum computers globally. TreQ aims to be a catalyst for the first generation of quantum computers addressing practical needs.
