Infleqtion has been awarded $11 million by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) under the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (APFIT) program to advance its Rack Mounted Optical Clocks project, specifically the Tiqker system, a quantum timing solution designed to enhance secure communications, GPS-independent navigation, and precision-guided systems in contested environments.

Tiqker leverages optical transitions in quantum states to provide high-precision, stable, and resilient timekeeping, outperforming legacy systems. It is designed for integration into defense platforms, ensuring secure communications, GPS-independent navigation, and anti-spoofing capabilities. Tiqker’s robust performance supports military operations where traditional GPS signals are unreliable or unavailable.

The DoD’s APFIT initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies by transitioning mature solutions from small businesses and nontraditional contractors into production. This aligns with the department’s focus on rapid deployment to maintain operational advantage. With $300 million appropriated for FY24, APFIT emphasizes strengthening U.S. defense readiness.

Infleqtion’s optical clocks represent a significant advancement in precision timing, reducing dependency on vulnerable systems and enhancing resilience in complex operations. This award reinforces Infleqtion’s leadership in quantum technology and its commitment to delivering solutions for defense and security sectors.
