The Telangana, India government has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with QuantumBasel, Switzerland’s leading quantum and AI innovation hub, to establish India’s first Quantum Hub in Hyderabad. The partnership, announced by IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, aims to position Telangana as a global leader in quantum technologies and artificial intelligence. The hub will focus on advancing quantum computing, AI, and innovative solutions for industries such as finance, life sciences, and logistics.
The Quantum Hub will provide mentorship for research and startups, fostering collaborations between academia, industry, and entrepreneurs. This initiative aligns with Telangana’s vision to become a hub for futuristic technologies and strengthen its ecosystem for emerging tech sectors. The agreement was signed in the presence of Nicholas Gugger, a member of the Swiss National Council and president of the India-Switzerland Parliamentary Group, highlighting the international significance of the collaboration.
Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized Telangana’s commitment to pioneering advancements in quantum computing, noting plans to organize seminars and summits to raise awareness and build expertise in the field. The Quantum Hub is expected to accelerate innovation, drive economic growth, and establish Hyderabad as a key player in the global quantum technology landscape.
