Bullnet Capital, a Spanish venture capital firm specializing in high-tech investments, has led an investment round in Inspiration-Q, a spin-off of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Founded in 2021 by quantum computing experts Samuel Fernández Lorenzo, Juanjo García-Ripoll, and Diego Porras, Inspiration-Q focuses on the development and commercialization of quantum-inspired algorithms. These algorithms, designed to run on conventional computers, provide the optimization and sustainability benefits associated with quantum computing, while being ready for future deployment on quantum hardware.

The fresh capital from Bullnet Capital will enable Inspiration-Q to expand its team and strengthen its software platform, which has already proven successful with its first clients. The platform primarily addresses complex optimization problems in the financial sector, such as portfolio optimization, risk analysis, and financial dynamics prediction.

This marks Bullnet Capital’s ninth investment under its Innvierte Science Tech Bullnet Capital IV fund, joining other tech companies like Katoid, Quside, and Leapwave. The investment is backed by the InnovFin SME Guarantee Facility under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 framework.

The founders of Inspiration-Q emphasize that their quantum-inspired algorithms are production-ready today, without the need to wait for quantum hardware to mature. This technology aims to contribute to the digital transformation of companies by solving complex numerical problems, particularly in the financial industry.
