The Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) will invest up to CA$675,000 ($471K USD) over three years into QAI Ventures to grow Calgary’s quantum innovation ecosystem. Fujitsu, and QuTech, in collaboration with Element Six, have achieved a major milestone toward fault-tolerant quantum computing by demonstrating a complete universal quantum gate set for diamond spin qubits with error probabilities below 0.1%. Diraq and Fermilab have announced a multi-institution collaboration under the U.S. Department of Energy’s QuantISED (Quantum Information Science Enabled Discovery) program to develop a novel quantum sensor platform for high-energy physics. Quantum software company ColibriTD has successfully demonstrated the Hybrid Differential Equation Solver (H-DES) on IBM’s 156-qubit Heron R2 quantum processor, achieving what it describes as the first solution of a partial differential equation (PDE) using a variational quantum algorithm (VQA) on real quantum hardware. SES and SpeQtral have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop an interoperable Optical Ground Station (OGS) to enable satellite-based Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) between Asia and Europe.
